Saturday, March 17th, 4 to 6 pm – Popol Vuh, the Origin: Functional Asana and Vinyasa Movement for the Average Human:
KalamBalam Principles Workshop
This theoretical and practical asana workshop will focus on attending to the real body functional needs of the average person who does not possess great flexibility or strength. Learn how to avoid injuries and to properly achieve an optimum mobility range and to balance the most important muscular structures. Those structures which generally are the most affected by the improper and constant practice of yoga.

Saturday, March 24th, 4 to 6 pm – Xbalanque, the Micro & Macro Cosmic Awareness:
KalamBalam Mindfulness Meditation
This special ceremonial meditation is designed and guided by Victor Varana to take advantage of the equinox balancing energies. This sadhana will begin with a smudging ceremony at the altar. Victor will then guide you through a mindfulness meditation taking you from the inner to the outer infinite space accompanied with live percussions, shamanic overtone singing and digital sound waves.

KalamBalam Myofascial Release & Sound Therapy
Blending theory and practice, this workshop delivers, a self-healing experience through a powerful myofascial release using deep stretching yoga asana and applying contemplative exercises, vocalizations, and Thai yoga self-massage. This series works at the physical and energetic planes by following the meridian channels of Chinese Traditional Medicine and the Indian Chakra System.

The KalamBalam Master Class
This one-of-a-kind practice, created by Victor Varana, blends a Mayan ceremony with pranayama kriya, power vinyasa yoga with a strong infusion of martial arts movements and transitions. Each sequence is inspired by a sacred animal of the Mayan jungle. The whole experience culminates with a deep relaxing and healing savasana under the power of Victor’s live drumming and shamanic throat singing.

Victor Varana is a yoga, meditation, martial arts, graphic & music arts blender. He is the founder of YogaMultimedia and creator of Kalam-Balam, the alchemy of yoga.
YogaMultimedia Yoga School is an accredited yoga school and a yoga retreat collective.
Kalam Balam is a method of physical discipline that combines yoga, pranayama, mudra, kriya, martial arts functional movement, meditation and sound healing.
Victor is an E-RYT500 Yoga master with an international platform. He has immersed, into a variety of traditional and contemporary yoga methods (Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kundalini, Yantra, Jivamukti, Power, Viniyoga and Thai Yoga) and studied with several great teachers, too many to mention, but to whom he is deeply and forever grateful; although, he recognizes that the integration of the learned concepts and most of the knowledge that a person can own, comes from the self practice and study. He also has studied and practiced since an early age, a variety of martial arts (Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, BJJ, Qi Gong & Tai Chi). He is a certified scuba and free diver as well.

Victor has over 12 years of full time teaching experience and thousands of multilevel teaching hours in Tulum, Mexico, one of the world’s most important yoga capitals. He has lead retreats and workshops internationally, teaching to all kinds of people with a diversity of ages, practice levels and physical condition. Among his students during this time, there are movie and TV celebrities, top models, sport champions and celebrity yoga & meditation teachers that highly recommend him.
In Kalam Balam the focus is the balance of the vital energy by aligning the body to configurate the channels and kriya for energy stimulation and movement, spiced with a blend of taoist martial arts, mexican shamanism and ancestral sound healing techniques.
Visual artist, which pieces has been exhibited in relevant events, mantra musician with a recorded album about to be released, art and yoga events producer, cultural promoter, founder of a yoga school, of a yoga and art special events production collective and a graphic communication studio inspired by YOGA I NATURE I ART since 2005.
