Paul Voudouris is a singer, songwriter, and keyboard artist with twenty albums to his credit, a devoted following, and critical acclaim (“Not like anything else out there. Haunting, ethereal, eloquent and inspiring” – The Mac Report). Seven years ago, Voudouris toured with Doc Severinsen, but in recent years, notwithstanding a packed performance last December at the San Miguel Playhouse, his concert appearances have been infrequent events. As a benefit for the nonprofit organization Libros para Todos (makingreaders.org), Voudouris is giving a single concert at the Bellas Artes on Wednesday, June 13, at 7pm.

The performance is part of the Steinway Series, and Voudouris will be accompanying himself on the Bellas Artes’ nine-foot concert grand piano. His concert will be an evening of song and story, in a multicultural and at times bilingual format. Along with stirring reinterpretations of songs by the Beatles, Elton John, and Billy Joel, Voudouris will play and sing his self-penned songs. As for his mainly improvised narration, Voudouris says, “I’ll be talking about marijuana, health, religion, airline travel, humanity, burial ceremonies, and the extra-terrestrials I’ve met.”
