Steve Brooks Live

Steve sings his original songs about Texas, spirit and yoga ladies for two nights at the Shelter Theater VG4, Vicente Guerrero #4 Col San Rafael. Advance tickets available at Biblioteca Gift Shop and online at www.sheltervg4.com

Steve Brooks has been described as a cross between two other guys named Brooks – Garth and Mel. His “Garth-side” has written close to two dozen songs recorded by other Austin songwriters as well as by Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe. He was twice nominated ‘Singer/Songwriter of the Year’ at the Texas Music Awards. His “Mel-side” wrote a satirical song-a-week for Jim Hightower’s nationally-syndicated radio show. San Miguel will get a double dose of Texas songwriting on Friday and Saturday, November 16 and 17, when multi-talented Austin songwriter Steve Brooks performs at Shelter Theater.

First-time listeners can expect vivid tales of people and places, mixed with witty comments on current events and fables for spiritual seekers. They’ll find out why the late Austin songwriter Jimmy LaFave called Brooks “a wordsmith of the first order,” and why Stave Magazine writes, “He is simply the most clever man you’ll hear with a guitar.”
