Title: The 5th Annual Mujeres en Cambio Fashion Show

October is a wonderful time to be in San Miguel. Our weather is perfect, the bounty of early fall harvest is in the markets, preparations for Halloween and Day of the Dead are underway, and most exciting of all...it’s time for the annual Mujeres en Cambio Fashion Show! One of the most anticipated events in our town, the show this year promises to be better than ever! The location is the Instituto de Allende, October 18, 4:30-7:30 pm.

Presented by Cenquizqui...her first time ever runway exhibition...the styles are wearable, contemporary, and daring all at once. Our designer fell in love with clothes at a young age, altering things she bought to create her own style. She feels very attracted to clothes from Renaissance times and styles with ethnic and Native American flair. CENQUIZQUI is a new design store in San Miguel featuring not only original clothing but also cutting edge home furnishings. We know you will be enchanted!

A delightful array of hors d'oeuvres will be served along with a cash wine and tequila bar. We will raffle a gorgeous Catrina outfit including an elegant evening ensemble and custom made Catrina hat. The lucky winner will be the belle of the Day of the Dead festivities! There will also be an after the show sale of Cenquizqui designs with complimentary Mezcal.

All proceeds from this inspiring and fun event will go to the scholarship program of Mujeres en Cambio. This year we are providing educational assistance to 178 girls and young women, 8th grade through graduation from university. Our recipients are selected from the rural communities that surround San Miguel de Allende based on need, family support, and grades. Mujeres en Cambio has been an active NGO for 23 years and each year the number of students graduating from high school and going on to university increases. This makes your support of our organization even more vital. Your participation in our events and your financial contributions are making a tremendous difference in the lives of these young women, in their families, and in our community.
